I know how it works, I just don't think it should work that way. I bet 95%+ searches on Github are Github-wide, not repository specific. Why not make the most common use case the default? Plus, why would a top navigation bar be context sensitive?


Interesting. I search within a repo (for code or issues) 95% of the time! It'd be interesting to know what their metrics are for usage of the search bar.


Ah, maybe I was just projecting my own usage patterns. A good middle ground would be for Github to display "All repositories" search results beneath repository specific search results.
