Been fairly happy with Nextcloud and OwnCloud prior to that for over a decade now. Caldav support for apps is a challenge like Zoom and others offering to connect to you calendar and assuming you either have Office365, Apple, or Google.
But, solutions like FreeBusy.io do offer connections and work well on calendering polls, etc.
When working with a world locked in Google, Apple, or Microsoft calendaring/groupware solutions on scheduling, it can be a hassle. But, if AI had to roll my own caldav, I probably would not so kudos to the author and effort here.
