Thus far I’ve got one anecdote from someone who knows someone renting out cottages on airbnb in Ontario, and another person who lives in Canada and therefore knows exactly what is and isn’t going on.

This hn where someone will create a new account complain about hn and then tell everyone they are wrong because a friend of a friend said something.
This place hasn't changed where we ignore facts and rely on third person accounts from an account who never posted before today. This wouldn't even fly on slashdot.
