If You See Crazy, Report Crazy (steady.substack.com)

It's be an interesting national service to have a registry of crazy. Let everyone file whatever they want. Tabulate it all. Look at the distributions, report some clustering (people who report this as crazy also report these items or these top items as crazy).

I think there's so much disbelief in each other right now, in the US at least. Part of me thinks a better map of the beefs & gripes would help people adjust. Instead of going around forever and ever, letting these things dwell, just run the tabulations. See what else these folks rank highly. See if it makes sense, see if it changes.

There's just uninformedow level griping. Fed by a party eager to tear down government & put plutocrats in charge. I don't think seeing the score would remedy all of this, but I really want to think if voting populations did express their concerns better, people might ask more questions about who they are partying up with. Right now Joe Rogan style antics is ruling a huge % of the nation, is shallow junk food garbage that keeps winning, and without tracking, without a better system for democracy to get some basic observability, I don't see how we can start to re-refine ourselves.

In the article, Dan Rather argues that the presidential debate today shouldn't be called a debate due to Trump's cognitive decline and cites recent examples of his speaking appearances where it goes beyond incoherent.

(I wrote this summary, not an AI.)
