There's hasn't been much research in this direction, but there are probably potential uses for OpenFlow in home networks. For example, apps or devices could use OpenFlow to give your router advice about how to handle their traffic, e.g. firewall or QoS rules. There's already an OpenFlow implementation for WRT54G routers, so it wouldn't be too hard to experiment with it.
