Technically you’re right, but…

Processed foods have added fat and sugar to make them more palatable.

Adding fat and sugar is a processing step.

No processing, no added crap.

Processing isn’t the key point, it’s a simplified way of looking at things to ease decision making.



Processing is still significant, as it includes the use of food additives to extends the self life and maintain quality. Salt is also a big component, as it flavour enhancer.


As a general overview, I enjoy Dr Greger's definition of processed food - 'Nothing bad added, nothing good taken away'.
