Why has OpenAI chosen to not be available in specific countries? They have an expansive and diverse list of allowed countries, but then they pick a few countries that don't have sanctions against them to be not allowed to use their services.
It feels like an endorsement of the ethics of the countries they do allow, since they decided to be an arbiter. It also feels like a blanket IP and phone number ban is ineffective against state actors, if that's what they're concerned about, while blocking entire populations.
It's really confusing I've never seen this.
