I loved working in the 90s. Things were less “professional “ and project management often almost didn’t exist. In my first job I was presented a problem and told to come back in a few months. No standups, management was all engineers.
I also feel back then software wasn’t viewed as a well paid career so you had more people who really wanted to do this because they were interested. When I look around today there are a lot of people who don’t really like the job but do it because it pays well.
It was also nice to not have to worry much about security. If it worked somehow, it would as good. No need to worry about about vulnerabilities.
