I was an early user of rss and blogged for years, then got sucked into social media like everyone else. Recently I've ditched that and got back into writing a bit and using Reeder / Feedly again. It is such a pleasure! Really just echoing this article, but to be able to do this at my pace and with my preferences as to what I choose to focus on or skim over without some bottom-feeding algorithm choosing for me is a really welcome breath of fresh air. I really hope there's a resurgence, the mode of reading presented by rss is so much more user and life focused...
