Please don't post links to the NY Times paywall, such as this link.

What is the reason for your objection to paid content? I don’t see how charging money for content is wrong in any way. Said content could easily be deserving of links from HN, I know of no guideline or informal rule that would discourage such practice.

Nothing wrong with charging money for content.

Just don't expect to get on news aggregators if you do.

Don’t expect to be very popular, that much I can agree with. But I don’t think there should be an outright ban.

Here is the Yale Alumni Magazine article that the NYTimes piece references: http://www.yalealumnimagazine.com/issues/2010_09/egypt3841.h...

Can you not access it? That's strange.

What country are you in?

I'm in Canada and I can't see it without logging in, but it's not a "paywall", just a "registerwall".

Use my site to bypass the register wall :) http://viewtext.org/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nytimes.com%2F2010...

A good companion to bugmenot. Thanks :)

Strange, I can access it without being hit with the 'registerwall' and I'm in Southern Ontario.

As can I in Nova Scotia

Works fine for me; I'm in the US.
