I tried using Hotmail as my primary for a while a few years ago and I've never seen more legitimate mail being entirely dropped with no explanation. It would never reach the inbox, it wouldn't be in the junk folder, it was as if the other party had never even sent it, despite assuring me they had. Never had that happen with Gmail or really any other mail service out there.
They have a recovery sheet you can print. If you lose your key, you can use the recovery information on that piece of paper to regain access. You put the recovery information in a safe place.
That is also exactly why people like myself are so against passkeys, there are no offline recovery.
As stated you can generate backup keys, but you can also associate more than one hardware token to your account. Which is what I do. I keep a separate yibikey in a lockbox off site as a break glass option.
End-to-end usually means only the data's owner (aka the customer) holds the keys needed. The term most used across password managers and similar tools is "zero knowledge encryption", where only you know the password to a vault, needed to decrypt it.
There's a "data encryption key", encrypted with a hash derived of your username+master password, and that data encryption key is used locally to decrypt the items of your vault. Even if everything is stored remotely, unless the provider got your raw master password (usually, a hash of that is used as the "password" for authentication), your information is totally safe.

Pretty much all the Renderware based GTAs have issues these days that only community made patches can mitigate.
A recent example is that in San Andreas, the seaplane never spawns if you're running Windows 11 24H2 or newer. All of it due to a bug that's always been in the game, but only the recent changes in Windows caused it to show up. CRT TVs only supported vertical refresh rates of 50Hz or 60Hz, which matched the regional mains frequency. They used interlacing and technically only showed half the frame at a time, but thanks to phosphor decay this added a feeling of fluidity to the image. If you were able to see it strobe, you must have had an impressive sight. And even if they supported higher refresh rates, it wouldn't matter, as the source of the signal would only ever be 50/60Hz.
CRT monitors used in PCs, on the other hand, supported a variety of refresh rates. Only monitors for specific applications used interlacing, customer grade ones didn't, which means you could see a strobing effect here if you ran it at a low frequency. But even the most analog monitors from the 80s supported atleast 640x480 at 60Hz, some programs such as the original DOOM were even able to squeeze 70Hz out of them by running at a different resolution while matching the horizontal refresh rate.
For some reason I remember 83Hz being the highest refresh rate supported by my XGA CRT, but I think it was only running at SVGA (800x600) in order to pull that rate.
Some demos could throw pixels into VRAM that fast, and it was wild looking. Like the 60Hz soap-opera effect but even more so.
I still feel that way looking at >30fps content since I really don't consume much of it.

400p at 70 Hz was the default resolution of the VGA, pretty much all the classic mode 13h games ran at 70 Hz.
Pretty much every company will contract a 3rd party service to perform those checks, making sure they get as much bang for as little buck as possible. Said services are usually the weak link that shares the data with others, often through PNGs in public buckets so that Russian teenagers have an easy job CURLing them.
If the government took security seriously, it’d endorse a solution and then take responsibility for it, given it came up with the law in the first place.
