Frigate NVR tied to a home assistant instance has my phone getting proactive notifications about people, birds, and buses (in their select areas...). It's not the easiest thing to setup, but if you're using ethernet cameras it seems to work very very well. The few POS wyze cameras's I have on the system tend to cause some problems, but I know for a fact it's 100% a combination of a) wifi (no matter how 'quality') b) wyze.
If it makes you feel any better, I've got a perhaps Galaxy Watch 7 from almost a year ago or so running wearOS, and it's battery life is at best at the 36 hour mark regardless. Came from an older tizen-based watch with similar battery life, and at least wearOS is far more funtional.
I've rocked pixels for a good while now, but the Xperia lineup has always been something I've really debated.
My largest concern is camera quality: obviously it is Sony, but if you wouldn't mind, could you elaborate on their camera 'stack' a bit (esp. in relation to pixel phones if you have first hand experience...).
I own an Xperia 5iii (so about four-and-a-half years old now), and I also own a Pixel 10.
The Pixel 10's camera is unequivocally better. The JPEG outputs are processed, 'Instagram-ready'. The output from the Sony camera even in JPEG mode is considerably more muted, neutral, and has less contrast. Note that this is not representative of newer Xperias' camera quality; I've heard they have improved considerably. I'm not too concerned because I hardly use my phone to take photos; I have a Nikon mirrorless for that.
I barely even game, but I have a founder's edition (i think that's what they call them) account that's held at a low monthly rate. I wonder if this applies to those accounts?
It would have zero bearing on my life, but I am curious. Doesn't seem the article mentions it.
"The 100-hour limit can only be avoided if you have a Founders Edition subscription. This is a special plan that was available when GeForce NOW first launched. Founders Edition users get unlimited playtime and other perks. However, Nvidia stopped new sign-ups for this plan about a year after launch, but existing users were allowed to keep it. "
So, yeah. Look into frigate.
